Why we built this
We were tired of AI assistants that live in browser tabs nobody opens, charge per seat, and can't do anything outside their walled garden. The best AI in the world is useless if it's not where you are.
We wanted an agent that lives in WhatsApp. Telegram. Discord. Wherever your team already communicates. One that remembers context, runs tools, handles files, sends emails, browses the web — and never phones home with your data.
So we built SquidClaw. One command, your machine, your rules.

How we got here
The itch
We kept switching between AI tools, re-pasting context, wishing they could just live in Telegram. So we started building.
First working prototype
A single-file Node.js agent that could answer messages on WhatsApp. No memory. No tools. But it worked.
40+ tools, 8 channels
Added browser control, file ops, sub-agents, voice, TTS, and channel after channel. The platform took shape.
Smart Memory goes live
4-layer long-term memory system ships. Agents now remember who you are, what you care about, and how you work — automatically.

SquidClaw is a fork of OpenClaw, rebuilt and extended by Tamer AbuSaa with deeper memory, additional channels, and the features needed to power Preplix — the managed cloud platform for teams who want the full experience without the terminal.
